About Wintex Agro
Thirty years of going deeper.
Automatic soil samplers from Thy, in the far north-west of Denmark, working in fields on every continent.

Torben Vinther, founder, product development
The idea
Torben Vinther is a farmer and agronomist who used to take soil samples by hand. He knew there had to be an easier way: one that spared the body and gave precise, representative samples, always from exactly the same depth.
In 1996 he built the first automatic sampler for 25 cm, the Vindél 100. Improved step by step, it was launched in 1999 as the Wintex 1000. Mounted on an ATV it made sampling far easier, faster and more accurate, and much larger areas could be covered.
It quickly became a bestseller in Denmark, then across Europe and beyond. Customer feedback led to samplers that go deeper in harder ground, with a hydraulic hammer and several layers in one operation. Today Wintex samplers work in the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and across Europe.
From Vindél to MCL3.

2000s
The hammer
Customers ask to go deeper in harder ground. The 1000s, 2000 and 3000 add a hydraulic hammer and multi-layer sampling.
2012
Wintex MCL3
Wintex takes over a Norwegian semi-automatic sampler for 120 and 200 cm and rebuilds it as the MCL3.
Today
Seven samplers
The 2500 and 3000s join the range: three layers from 60 cm and from a full metre. From 25 cm to 2 m.
